Our Process

Exalt Design Group begins every project by creating a bespoke concept. This starts with the initial design process steps of programming and research where we learn about your project and the initial inspiration is derived. Next your project is brought to life by developing a narrative and giving it a name.

A written design narrative is developed which helps to ensure the project results in an elevated interior experience not just a beautiful interior. The narrative is rooted in context while focused on authenticity and personalization. Each interior space will be brought to life with its own character, personality and storytelling at the heart of the concept.

The narrative informs the schematic design phase which begins with inspiration imagery. This phase commences with space plan iterations and initial selections that complete the overall concept. Once the initial selections are presented and approved the project moves to the design development stage where the space plan is completed and final selections are made.

In the design development stage the design layers of acoustics, lighting, biophilia, art and scent are given special consideration. These layers in particular can have a profound impact on how an interior space is experienced. Incorporating all the design layers final selections are made in this phase. 

Once final selections have been approved, the contract documentation phase begins. Specifications, construction documentation and/or drawings are prepared for product procurement, design direction and intent. During the final phase contract administration, the client selected trades execute the overall design. Exalt assists to ensure the final installation results in a interior experience that exceeds client expectations.
